The Tram Museum celebrates its 40th anniversary

To mark the 40th anniversary of the Tram Museum, around 40 vintage vehicles left their magnificent exhibition hall on Avenue de Tervuren to parade through the surrounding streets. Old trams replaced the usual vehicles on lines 39 and 44 in particular.

Among these historic vehicles was a steam tram from 1890, named Lucie. This exceptional vehicle travelled on a section of line 8.

The Tram Museum, adjacent to the Woluwe depot, houses around 130 vehicles that are meticulously maintained by its volunteer members. The STIB owns the building and the impressive collection and supports the Museum's activities. Many volunteers are part of the STIB's staff.
