The innov@telier
The STIB's innovation laboratory, named innov@telier, was launched in 2021 and moved up a gear in 2022. Its goal is to support colleagues who want to innovate to benefit customers.
Since its creation, 18 teams have used the innov@telier to develop a new idea or find innovative solutions to a recurring problem. The "design sprint" technique allows partners from the different departments involved, or even from external companies, to focus on a problem together. Each team has 5 consecutive days to analyse, get inspired and create solutions, choose one, create a prototype and test it with customers.
This method quickly identifies projects that have potential and focuses on initiatives with real added value for clients. In 2022, for example, the innov@teliers led to the "Refresh Station" project and to a concept of charging masts for electric buses.
