Green light for tram line 10

Neder-Over-Heembeek is changing rapidly and in the midst of an unprecedented urban development process, linked to population growth in the City of Brussels and the Brussels-Capital Region in general. The new tram line 10 will connect Rogier station and Hôpital Militaire, offering a new efficient and high-capacity service to Neder-Over-Heembeek.

On 10 November 2022, the STIB obtained planning permission for the creation of the new tram line. The new 5.5-kilometre section will have 10 stops.

An unprecedented participatory approach has made it possible to involve and inform inhabitants throughout the project development process. The STIB has set up numerous information channels, including a website, a Facebook page and a "tram house". Information sessions were also organised and a citizens' panel was involved in the decision-making process.

Ground was first broken in January 2023. Work will continue until the end of 2024, when tram line 10 will be able to welcome its first passengers.
