A new lease of life for Jette cemetery

The area around Jette cemetery underwent a real transformation in summer 2022. Transformed into a multimodal hub, the area is now home to tram and bus stops. Planning permission for the redevelopment of Boulevard de Smet de Naeyer, between Avenue Charles Woeste and Avenue Guillaume De Greef, and the surrounding roads, was amended at the end of 2021. The new version promotes drainage areas and is based on the principles of the Good Move regional mobility plan.

The work began in 2021, with the replacement of the utilities: drainage, electricity, water distribution, telecommunications, etc. In 2022, it continued with the installation of new tram tracks and the redevelopment of the roads, pavements and park.
